Breast Augmentation Before & After Photos

This 43 year-old woman came to visit me at our Lake Forest office to discuss breast enlargement after having lost 25 pounds.  She also had an element of “post-partum involution” or decrease in breast size, having had 2 children, and now wore a 32 AA cup size.  She had not breast-fed her children, and had no history of biopsies or family history of breast cancer.  She was also fairly active in athletics, especially jogging.

Upon examination, the patient had excellent symmetry pre-operatively (especially of her nipple position), and virtually no ptosis (or drooping), making her an ideal candidate for breast augmentation.  Since it was 2004 - before gel implants again became FDA-approved and widely available for primary augmentations - I recommended placement of average-sized round saline implants via the inframammary fold under the muscle.  She came in to size implants pre-operatively, and settled on implants in the mid-200 size range, to create a moderate sized B-cup, and to not interfere in her physical activities too much.

She indeed had 280cc round, moderate-profile saline implants placed bilaterally in the submuscular position under light general anesthesia, which she tolerated quite well.  She recovered quickly and was back to running by around 4-6 weeks.  She was very pleased with the natural appearance of her implants (photos are from 6 months post-op), and the fact that it did not interfere with her physical activities.
