This patient is a 16-year-old female who had injured her nose during cheerleading several months prior.  This had resulted in a fairly fixed nasal bridge/pyramid injury, with a widened effect on anterior view, and a mild dorsal hump effect on profile view.

As a plastic surgeon specializing in rhinoplasty in Chicago and Lake Forest, I recommended to the patient and her mother that she undergo a submucous resection of her nasal septum to help correct and airflow issue, and a dorsal rhinoplasty to reduce and reset the nasal pyramid.  She tolerated this overnight procedure well, which created a "cuter", better proportioned nose (photographs are from approximately 6 months post-op).
