Dr. Steinwald has recently made arrangements to share office space with the Women's Breast Imaging Care Center of Chicago on Monday afternoons, to see new consults and follow-ups of patients who have recently had surgery in the city.  These serene, comfortable, private offices are on the 14th floor of the Bloomingdale's Building on Michigan Avenue, just below the 900 N. Michigan Avenue Surgery Center (on the 15th floor).  Dr. Steinwald will be seeing patients mostly on Monday afternoons (specifically new consults for patients interested in cosmetic surgery), but can also perform injectable procedures such as BOTOX or soft tissue fillers.  Cosmetic surgery consults will be complimentary until further notice, and Dr. Steinwald is also offering a special surgical fee schedule through 2010.  Please call 312-867-9000 if you are interesting in scheduling an appointment (phones will be answered by the radiology offices of Dr. Werber and Dr. Farag).

  • Dr. Steinwald has recently passed 10-year recertifying exams for both The American Board of Surgery (12/09) and The American Board of Plastic Surgery (4/10), enabling him to remain one of the few currently double board-certified plastic surgeons on the North Shore of Chicago.

 

  • For the 5th straight year, Dr. Paul Steinwald has been named one of "America's Top Plastic Surgeons" by the Consumers' Research Council of America. For more information, please see their website.

 

  • Dr. Steinwald has served as Vice-Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Lake Forest Hospital since 2007.  This position involves reviewing surgical cases for quality issues, as well as serving as a general liaison between members of The Department and administration.  He is also currently involved in an advisory role on behalf of the Department of Surgery regarding Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital's change-over to electronic medical records, likely to be completed by the summer of 2011. 

 

  • Lake Forest Hospital indeed merged with Northwestern University Medical Center officially on February 1, 2010.  This should only benefit our patients on the North Shore of Chicago, as the latter's oversight and resources should improve access to and the quality of care delivered, while "Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital" retains its unique community hospital convenience, charm and high level of personalized, compassionate care.

 

  • Lake Forest Plastic Surgery is pleased to be able to offer silicone gel implants for primary breast augmentation (long unavailable, but recently approved by the FDA), provided the patient is at least 22 years of age and enrolls in a follow-up study protocol. These "Memory Gel" implants come in smooth regular, moderate and high-profile versions, and are potentially more natural-feeling than standard saline filled implants.
