Dr.Steinwald is now operating downtown in The City!

"Dr. Steinwald has recently made arrangements to share office space with the Women's Breast Imaging Care Center (wbicc.com) on Monday afternoons, to see new consults and follow-ups of patients who have had surgery in the city. These serene, comfortable, private offices are on the 14th floor of the Bloomingdale's Building on Michigan Avenue, just below the 900 N. Michigan Avenue Surgery Center (on the 15th floor). Dr. Steinwald will be seeing patients mostly on Monday afternoons (specifically new consults for patients interested in cosmetic surgery), but can also perform injectable procedures such as BOTOX or soft tissue fillers. Cosmetic surgery consults will be complimentary until further notice, and Dr. Steinwald is also offering a special surgical fee schedule for the first half of this year. Dr. Steinwald has recently recertified in General Surgery, and therefore remains a "Double Board-Certified" Plastic Surgeon, one of the few in the Chicagoland area!

Dr. Paul Steinwald is pleased to announce that he is now seeing patients downtown at the Lake Forest Hospital Grayslake Facility (at 120 and 45) on Thursday mornings, in time-share suite #316. Please call our main office phone number if you wish to schedule an initial consultation or early follow-up appointment there.

Dr. Steinwald is continuing to intermittently see patients at the new location of SpaDerma (at 1133 West Armitage), on Wednesday afternoons/evenings, by appointment only. Dr. Steinwald will be offering complimentary consultations for elective/cosmetic (i.e. non-insurance) procedures only at this location, for patients interested in having outpatient aesthetic surgery in Chicago, at the 900 N. Michigan Surgical Center (the Bloomingdale's building). Lake Forest Plastic Surgery is pleased to be able to offer silicone gel implants for primary breast augmentation (long unavailable, but recently approved by the FDA), provided the patient is at least 22 years of age and enrolls in a follow-up study protocol. These "Memory Gel" implants come in smooth regular, moderate and high-profile versions, and are potentially more natural-feeling than standard saline filled implants. Dr. Steinwald has also recently been named Vice-Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Lake Forest Hospital. He hopes to use this position to improve physician/staff relations, as well as to help optimize patient-care efficiency with regard to the surgical care they experience at Lake Forest Hospital.

Dr. Steinwald recently completed a hands-on course in advanced Botox injection techniques in the Milwaukee-area. This course reinforced and updated current upper brow/forehead and periorbital techniques, and introduced the concept of Botox in the lower face to potentially fill out lip lines, elevate down-turned corners of the mouth, and even help correct a drooping nasal tip or a "gummy" smile. Techniques of injecting into the neck area to correct faint transverse lines or more prominent vertical bands were also covered. Both Dr. Osmar P. Steinwald as well as his son Paul M. Steinwald, M.D. were recently honored as "Local Heroes" for their work in breast reconstruction during the "BMW Ultimate Drive" event on Thursday, July 20th, to raise money for breast cancer research, education, screening, treatment and outreach programs. This was held at the Knauz Autopark in Lake Bluff, during which the surgeons spoke about experiences with breast reconstruction during their combined 38 years worth of service to the community. In addition, BMW donated $1 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for every mile test-driven by the public.
