Photofacial (IPL) Treatments

Our "Afterglow" Med Spa Service offerings revolve around the powerful laser treatments available in our Lake Forest plastic surgery office. We pleased to offer patients a low-downtime procedure called a photofacial, or intense-pulsed light treatment, with the Palomar Platform Starlux 500 IPL Laser. Norma, our licensed aesthetician, has years of experience with this device and finds it is excellent for treating:

  • brown spots and pigmentation irregularities
  • complexion issues, including dilated pores
  • small (spider vein) vessels
  • permanent hair reduction

Please call us today at (303) 278-2600 to schedule your confidential, personalized consultation or click to request a consultation online with Norma who can advise you regarding your best options for Chicago-area laser skin treatments.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatments

TrimatrixxOur complementary device is the Trimatrixx erbium:YAG for laser skin resurfacing. This is a relatively comfortable but very effective laser for exfoliation and skin tightening. The Trimatrixx is generally gentler than CO2 lasers, and produces less redness, flaking and overall less downtime. With laser skin resurfacing, we can effectively treat:

  • sun damage
  • acne scarring or complexion/pigmentation irregularities
  • mildly sagging skin in face and neck
  • fine lines and wrinkles

These skin care treatments (including other resurfacing treatments such as microdermabrasion) are also an excellent complement to facial plastic surgery procedures such as a Chicago facelift or eyelid surgery.

The intensity of both of these treatments can be adjusted depending upon your lifestyle and skin care treatment needs. You can choose a "lunchtime laser treatment", with minimal downtime, to a more aggressive mid-depth treatment, which may lead to more downtime, but is very effective for acne scarring or severely sun-damaged skin. For the best results we often recommend a series of three treatments, with 2-4 weeks in between (hair reduction treatments may require as many as six treatments).
